About Chalet Palmer ...
This very large detached chalet is at the end of a private road just outside La Clusaz, so you won't be bothered by passing traffic.
Despite its quiet location, it's just above the road used by the ski bus, just a short walk away, so you'll waste no time getting to the slopes. It's a 10-minute drive to La Clusaz, where you'll find a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants, as well as regular markets, which are a great place to pick up local produce.
This obviously much-loved family chalet will make you feel right at home, the moment you walk through the door.
The property ...
After a fabulous day skiing or hiking in the French Alps, return to Chalet Palmer, hang your gear in the kit room and jump straight in the sauna! This chalet has been carefully designed so that you have everything you need for the perfect mountain holiday.
The main living area is on the first floor, where there is plenty of room to relax on the cosy and comfy chairs and sofas around an open fire. If you'd prefer to take in the mountain air, double doors lead out on to a large sunny south-facing terrace. The kitchen is open plan and has a breakfast bar, making it a sociable place to gather and prepare a meal, and there is a large dining table where you can eat together. There are also two double en suite bedrooms on this floor.
An impressive double staircase leads up to the second floor, which has a three-sided galleried landing. A second sitting area with a large flatscreen television is a great place for older children to relax, and there are two more double bedrooms with en suite facilities. The spacious master bedroom suite runs the whole width of the chalet and opens on to the balcony, where you can enjoy your morning coffee.
There is another bedroom with a useful laundry and a drying room on the lower ground floor.
The chalet is decorated throughout with original pictures and paintings, rugs, lamps and cushions, to ensure your stay is warm and comfortable.
About the area ...
There's superb skiing at La Balme, which is just 2km from Chalet Palmer, with more choice at nearby La Clusaz, where there is weekly floodlit skiing and the new Bossonet ski lift will whisk you up the hill in minutes.
The ski bus stops on the road below the chalet, so you'll be on the slopes in no time. A single Aravis ski pass links La Clusaz to Le Grand Bornand and La Croix Fry, giving you more than 200km of pistes to explore.
There's great terrain for cross-country skiers at the nearby Confins and Beauregard plateaus, and non-skiers will have no time to be bored, with an ice-skating rink and cinema, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides.
If you're looking for the ultimate in relaxation, let your cares float away in the heated outdoor pool at La Clusaz, while the snow falls gently around you.
There's so much to do in the La Clusaz area during the summer, you might wish you'd booked an extra week.
The terrace outside the main living area is south-facing, sun drenched and large enough to accomodate furniture so that everyone can enjoy the views over the mountains and pistes. Why not fire up the barbecue and enjoy a meal out here?
Walking or biking in the mountains is a pleasure, and all the hard work is done for you if you take the ski lift to the top and come down at your own pace. You can pick up a map of hiking and biking trails at the tourist office in La Clusaz.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, mountain-biking or white-water rafting. Via ferrata is a great family day out, with children as young as eight able to explore the mountains on iron walkways, secured to a harness.
The beautiful lakeside town of Annecy is just 30 minutes away by car, and is a great choice for a day out. The lake is said to be the cleanest in Europe and in the summer it's a lovely place for watersports, cycling, swimming or you could just hire a boat and explore the lakeside beaches.
If you are already picturing yourself and your friends enjoying the comfort of Chalet Palmer, why not check our calendar and see when the property is free? If you need a little time to finalise plans, we can hold the dates for 24 hours. But make sure you come back before the time runs out - Chalet Palmer is a popular choice.

The OVO Network Review
“A great venue for family, friends, seminars etc... summer and winter”
Chalet Palmer, just above the Route de Plattuy between the lifts at La Balme and the centre of La Clusaz, is hugely appealing to skiers of all levels.
The free ski bus stops 100 metres away from the chalet. Skiers can get to the hill easily, non skiers can access La Clusaz via the bus service rather than having to rely on the car. It's only 1.5 km away from the top of the village, although we would recommend taking the bus or a calèche (horse-drawn carriage) back up!
The location above the road makes for stunning views over Bossonet, the Cret du Merle and Beauregard, plus in the evenings the vista, the stars, and the the lights of La Clusaz make a beautiful backdrop. Chalet Palmer scores a big tick for location.
The terrace off the main living floor is a huge bonus winter and summer alike, as it's a great space, well set up for for coffee, sunbathing, dining, an apero, or taking in that view in peace and quiet.
Indoors, the chalet is colourful and bright, set up and designed for comfort, really well equipped with masses of space, five generous en suite bedrooms, a separate TV lounge, a sauna, a cosy fireplace, a spectacular stairwell and galleried landing.
With all bedrooms being en suite, Chalet Palmer is a great venue for family groups, friends, conventions and seminars, skiers and non-skiers alike. There's even an extra bedroom (not included in the capacity) downstairs for the nanny!

La Clusaz as a resort isn't huge but the skiing is! We ski everything possible and in 30 years we have never tired of it
We first came to La Clusaz 30 years ago and immediately fell in love with it. We bought a lovely chalet, but the family was growing and 18 years ago we spotted our dream chalet.
The children have grown up enjoying the most fantastic skiing holidays. La Clusaz as a resort isn't huge, but the skiing is! We ski everything possible and in 30 years we have never tired of it.
One of the things that we have always loved most about La Clusaz is that as well as being such a beautiful village it manages to retain all its traditional charm. There is a market on Mondays with all the local produce, which we love, and a lot else that sets it apart from the concrete jungles of the French Alps.
We do come mainly for the skiing, but the summer walks and picnics have also been a big part of our incredibly happy times here. As the snow melts in the spring the farmers take the cows out to the high pastures and there are big village celebrations as they bring them back down again in the autumn. Picnics in the meadows in summer with the sound of the cow bells in the distance are just magical. We never tire of the fresh air and the incredible view from the chalet.
Being an hour from Geneva the chalet is so easy to get to, but now that the children are older we don't go as much as we did. The chalet is extremely spacious but incredibly cosy. We welcome you and wish you even more fun than we have had...if that were possible!

Great chalet with wonderful views. The property has everything that you need for a relaxing stay after a long day on the slopes. And there is plenty of space with a fabulous outside area for the kids to play safely.
Both Louise and Cyril the managers made us feel very welcome and were clearly available.
Ski bus is very close from the chalet and the slopes are only within 2/3 minutes by car.

“A lovely holiday in a superb chalet”
We had a really lovely stay in this magnificent chalet. It is very comfortable and the view of the mountains is splendid. We loved the location, the view, the comfort and the fireplace. The village of La Clusaz is really lovely, and we loved the public swimming pool.

“What a lovely house !”
We had a fabulous time in Chalet Palmer. The view, the facilities, the garage/ski room, the 'boot room', the balcony, the BBQ, the open plan space... everything was well set and convenient. Also the access to Balme and Bossonet areas was easier than expected. Only suggestion : there should be more lights in the chalet.

We have just spent a week in this magnificent chalet with superb views of the mountains. We particularly wanted to mention how comfortable we felt - it's a very very cosy chalet. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It is close to the village and the slopes. We had everything we needed in the chalet - from the lovely crockery to the soft cushions in the living room, there is everything you need for a great holiday. Thank you for the very professional welcome from the manage, the OVO team and the owners of this wonderful chalet. We had a super holiday!

“Spacious and peaceful”
A magnificent chalet, spacious, very well decorated and laid out. It is not overlooked, and the view and the terrace are splendid. It is very well planned (ski store etc). The bed linen in one bedroom was not great, but the problem was resolved quickly. The station is friendly and welcoming, and the area where the chalet was is calm and peaceful.

“We loved our holiday in this chalet”
It is very spacious with wonderful light and a beautiful panoramic view. We could tell that the owners love this chalet, which really has character. We loved cooking in the well-equipped open plan kitchen while the children played games or read by the fire. We would recommend a little more lighting in the living room and dining area for the evenings. We would not hesitate to recommend this chalet to anyone.

“This picture post-card chalet is perfect”
We have stayed in Chalet Palmer twice. The first time we took clients. A very smart, grown up week.
A private chef and a driver was organised. We also had ski guides for the adventurous skiers and fantastic activities for ones who didn't. We went husky driving, went to the beautiful village spa one afternoon and a chef came and taught us how to cook Alpine specialities with wine tasting. The well thought out open plan kitchen was perfect for this. The open log fire and deep sofas made it very cosy, one person just snuggled up and read books! The huge dining table was conducive to the fabulous meals, wine and in-to-the-night- chatting. We ate breakfast out on the balcony, with the sun pouring down, looking out at the breathtaking views.
Lovely touches, like Jo Malone candles in the bathrooms made us feel like we were in our own private boutique hotel.
We then booked for a big family celebration holiday, so there were Grannies and Grandpas, as well as tiny tots.
This is a family owned chalet and you can feel that. Completely non-corporate, but with all the 'stuff' you need and spoiling things that you don't really - but love.
The teenagers were happy about the Internet and iPod docking and the cool bars and night clubs. The oldies loved the sleigh ride round the village and the pretty Alpine shops and some of the easy walking trails. We loved the challenging skiing and fantastic restaurants. We had a nanny for the little ones, which worked really well. She picked up the children from ski-school and took them ice-skating and sledging etc.
It was an amazing week. La Clusaz is so pretty. It's a thriving, fun village, with everything we needed to make the perfect family holiday.

“A magical retreat”
There is something so special about Chalet Palmer, it is like a magical retreat. I don't know if it is the incredible mountain view and fresh air on the balcony that recharges my batteries, or the huge log fire, the deep sofas and luxurious bath and comfy beds - I will have to come here again to see! But on a day when we have skied the 5 mountain circuit and I sit by the fire for early evening drinks I feel utterly content and relaxed.

“Brilliant brilliant time”
Have completely charged my batteries, thank you so much. The chalet is so spacious, when we get back from a long day skiing and everyone wants to have a bath at once it just works. The chalet is big enough to accommodate all needs for personal quiet time, a bath and a nap - even though some of the men just watch football on the enormous TV screen!

“A fantastic New Year”
Thank you once again for another fantastic new year at Chalet Palmer. Really loved the chalet, the skiing and the fantastic food.

Why La Clusaz?
Less than an hour from Geneva, La Clusaz offers Alpine action all year round. A traditional farming village, it not only offers great skiing and superb summer activities, but also a real community feel, whenever you visit. Great restaurants, bars and nightlife combine with local markets, festivals and traditions to give you the best of all worlds.
